Indeed, software that thinks it can easily identify valid email
addresses.  I like to point would-be validators at the "Verifying Email
Addresses" section at the bottom of

Somewhat tangentially, while I generally hate websites who trust
client-side input validation, I have on occasion abused such sites to
force my preferred email address through.  }:>
