mkdir has a -p option, to make it create any necessary parent directory. Cool.
mkdir has a -m option, to set the mode of the newly created directory. Cool.

But "mkdir -m <mode> -p <dir>" only sets the mode of the final directory -
not of any created parent directory. Hate, hate, hate.
