Truthfully I can't remember right now, but it was probably something 
related to installing perl libraries or something.  It was one of those 
"well I can spend 5 hours hacking it to run as a normal user or just 
bloody run it as root" situations.  Always yucky, but never befored 
changed my hostname to '-f'.

I'm working at a software company now; don't even get me started... 
(Fortunately I'm more design than implementation, but oh, my eyes.)
