My NeXTstation Mono was faster than my 7600/180 (604e) if the latter was
running OS 9, and the graphics were faster than that 604e running OS X 10.1.5,
but when you did stuff that didn't involve graphics (like, telnetted in to
either) it was obvious that the PPC was kicking its butt.

If Apple hadn't put all the eye candy in OS X, it would have kicked OS 9's
butt on the same hardware.
