Oh for fuck's sake, all I want to be able to do is load other .js files
so that I can modularize things and appropriately manage dependencies.
I can work around all the other crap. And I want to be able to load
them via URIs--just as I can currently load XML files over HTTP in
JavaScript!

Is that so much to ask? The rest of this discussion is just philosophy.
It doesn't get me any closer to getting my work done.
