There are many reasons to hate Windows. But this one was new to me:

I have been issued with an unlovely Dell running Windows for teletubbies.

I plugged a USB mouse in with one hand, while still using the machine with
the other.

A little speech-bubble like thing pops up saying "Windows has detected a new
human-computer interface device"

And then the fucking thing hung for 5 seconds. Presumably while it found
drivers. It's only a mouse, dammit. Haven't you seen a mouse before? Might
a USB mouse be a fairly standard thing?

If you plug a mouse into a Mac, it just keeps working.

Presumably teletubbies can only do one thing at a time, so Windows is built
down to that level.

Oh, and every time I plug or unplug the mouse Windows make stupid noises at
me. Yes, yes, the machine has a sound card. Do you need to keep reminding me?
Just shut the fuck up and be useful. Which is probably too much to ask. :-(
