I hate spaces as tabs.  There's a reason they're called spaces and not
"one-eigth a tab."

That said, I don't hate them as much as I hate people who can't respect
the conventions used by the primary author or developer.  It really pisses
me off when some tweaker has converted all my tabs to spaces and then
saved the file with a different encoding.  Bastards.

Not forcing your preferences on others is a good rule in general.
