If the menu's so long that the cursor keys are inconvenient then you're
stuffing to much in the menu.

It takes me *longer* to recognise and hit the underlined keys than to just
hit "up up up" or whatever. Unless you're actually memorizing them, what's
the point?

I activate the menu bar by tapping ALT, and then hit "right down" to get to
the edit menu, and "down down" for cut.

That way I don't have to peer close to see what unobvious letter the guy who
wrote the program decided to underline.
