Hey, this is on topic. This may actually be hateful auto-responder software.
The known-sane double opt in system on the perl.org mailing list system was
defeated when someone built a more sophisticate fool. (Someone managed to
have a challenge response system that got itself subscribed. Probably as
the side effect of a header faking worm. (ob-hate about virus scanners)
I suspect that the fool in question had no idea that as the list sent him
more messages his lippy challenge response system was getting progressively
more abusive (back to the list - he's archived in perpetuity now - this
is perl5-porters if anyone cares. Good, you don't))
