I was once writing an angry letter to my bank through their web
interface (since they don't read mail, answer their phone, or read
their regular email, instead instructing me to use their "web-based
questions/comments system"), and after spending an hour spewing forth
(mostly on-topic here, actually) frothing, angry, bile-filled raging
hate about their online-banking system, I posted it to discover that
my message was too large. "No matter," I say, "I can maybe use fewer
words, and maybe leave out the rant about their small idle-time." So
I hit "Back" in my browser and- the text was gone.

You see, in order to make my keyboarding more convenient, their site
included Javascript that would place my keyboard focus in their text
edit box and remove all of the text that was previously there. My
lovely rant all gone.

On the up-side, I switched banks that week. Now I have a *new* bank's
online software to hate.
