I hate the way Perl leads people to say "I don't like $BADFEATURE 
either, but that's no problem, because I just choose not to use them." 
And Every time I've worked on someone's Perl code they've gone ahead 
and pulled something else from @BADFEATURE instead, so I still have to 
deal with just about everything in @BADFEATURE whether I want to or 
not.

Saying Perl doesn't encourage bad programming is like saying RJR 
doesn't encourage smoking.
