The perl5 behaviour is *less hateful* for people coming from 
traditional Algol-family languages as well.

I'm surprised you can't do (grep '/foo/ @bar).

Or @bar grep: /foo/.

Or {@bar /foo grep}

Or {grep:foo,bar}

Or apply @bar {grep /foo/}

Or (@bar : grep) 'foo'

Perl's got lots of languages to mine syntax from yet.
