I've made a quick stab at that - http://siesta.sourceforge.net/ lives 
in CVS as siesta/website/webroot, I'll probably drop a Makefile in 
place to replace scripts/shove-it at some point, which can do all that 
there magic you're talking of.

If we have a big site it should probably move to its own module, same 
with the heavy plugins like the spamassain wrapper, but I was just 
quickly hacking at it.

Determining stable and unstable may be tricky, but a simple snapshot of 
the .pm files should be quite doable.
