It actually looks like the formatted output of nsgmls or one of its
descendants.

There is actually a reason for the weird position of the \n, within the
tags: in SGML/XML, it is the only place where it is absolutely certain
that a whitespace is non-significant. Hence it looks bad but at least the
file is broken into several lines. To come back to the topic of the list,
I HATE getting several megabytes worth of SGML/XML in one big happy line.
vi is NOT happy with it!
