Konqueror is big, yes, but very fast (faster than any other well-featured (js, flash, java, etc) browser I've tried). And crashy? It used to be, but my Konqueror hasn't crashed in a very long time. Perhaps you should upgrade? I'm using 3.2. As for Mozilla crashing and taking windows/tabs with it, there's an extension (but possibly that's for Firefox only, I don't know) that lets you restore them automatically, similar to how Opera does that.
