That's funny. I just found the underdocumented 'PreservePermissions' option. If you are running a CVS client and server more recent than 1.9.26 (and you should! ;), try editing the repository's CVSROOT/config file and adding or setting 'PreservePermissions=3Dtrue'. This just might help :) I'm not sure if it would at all work with a remote repository, though - never tested it.
