Skins are very useful. Whenever you see an advertisement or readme or 
whatever claiming "Now with Skins!" (or the more pathetic version 
"skins finally work" in the release notes)  it's the perfect sign the 
program in question has jumped the shark and should from that point in 
time onwards be avoided.

No, I take that back. It should be avoided from two versions earlier 
than the first mention of skins.
