After a while you get tired of discovering that the people who > made the software you use aren't in business any more. Oh crap. Yeah, I'm rather spoiled with Debian's huge repository, and didn't realise the scattered sort-of equivalent that many sites together are doesn't have the same availability guarantees. > People buy Macs because they don't want to be expert computer dudes. Really? I bought mine for two reasons: 1. The Mini is small and silent in a way that no PC for this price can be 2. Expert computer dudes keep recommending OS X. Now that I have used it for a month, I still don't really understand why. I'd recommend it over Windows any time, and it's as usable as KDE on average (only because the terminal focus hotkeys make up for a lot), so I can hopefully continue to use it without hating it too much, but there's no "I love my mac" from me. Well, I love the hardware. > If if they ARE only scripting PHP or Applescript, they're ahead of someone > who's an expert in software installs. ++ Juerd -- http://convolution.nl/maak_juerd_blij.html http://convolution.nl/make_juerd_happy.html http://convolution.nl/gajigu_juerd_n.htmlThere's stuff above here
