In this case "native" does mean calling the platform routines to draw various controls. The "theme" part is mostly the selection of colour and icons to add on to them. Which still sucks. My one gripe with Opera is that it insists on themes and can't be configured not to use them, and their half-arsed "native" themes don't improve things.
