  Heck, they're just following in the footsteps of Sun and Java.

  Most programmers I've encountered have problems with the lack of
definition of integral types in C ("How big is an int?"  "It depends upon
the architecture, but generally, an int is the native size of integers."
"But how many bits?").  Then again, most programmers I've encountered have
only programmed on one system---two if I'm lucky ("I've programmed under DOS
*and* Windows!").
