This is true. I could put in some sort of locking mechanism but, for the
moment, I can't be arsed. Sorry, but it's true. 

In general, plugins (and hence stuff configured by email) don't update
preferences (the fact that the Submit one does it is actually a bit of a
hack) - this will be done by the web interface or nacho so if people are
stupid enough to be messing round with the two interfaces at the same
time then, well, they get what they deserve. Even if they are then the
worst that happens is that one of the people doing the updating will
just get the wrong value and they can change that later.

In short. Fsck 'em :)
