Apart from the obvious fact that you may get pages with only one mail on 
it is there any reason why threads in Mariachi couldn't have their own 
page(s) - i.e never more than one thread per page.

This would allow quick incremental generation without having to cache in 
a DB which doens't look it's going to get done any time soon.
