First we have to go through the 'One True Bracing Style' debate. I've 
been through this so many times that the progression is predictable.

- email inclusion formats and sig files
- tabs vs. spaces
- bracing style
- editor preferences
- gun control
- Hitler

When somebody finally brings up how Hitler would've done this or that, 
the thread has finally been beaten to death.

At one of my employers, when we got to tabs and spaces we would just 
declare 'hitler' on the thread and save filling everybody's mailbox with 
three thousand messages covering all the intervening subjects.

Hitler.

Folks the only person who cares how you write code is the guy/gal who 
has to fix your bugs - and perhaps your boss, because he/she will have 
to hire the person to fix your bugs.
