I wish people wrapped at 72 cols. I've used a regular firewire cable on my Maxi-Pod before (I needed a 4-pin cable for the laptop). > reason my iBook decided that it would like to go to sleep in > the middle of the night even though it was doing something. I Well, sure -- it's a notebook. That's why you tell it not to suspsend when it's plugged in. Now if you want stupid, I have my screensaver on my powerbook set to lock on suspend, and so does my GF. If you come back from a suspend, you are asked to authenticate -- just like you should. If you hit the "switch user" button on that authenticate box it goes back to the login screen. You select the other user and enter their password. Then you get asked by the screen saver to enter it *again* and finally you get your desktop. Then, about 20 seconds later, the whole system *suspends* again. Every single time. You have to bring it back from suspend, then enter your password a *third* time before you can actually use the thing. *That* is hate making. It's not "fast user switching" it's "Authenticate, Authenticate, do a little dance, Authenticate again user switching." Darrell
