I didn't know either, but now I do. Ugh. Oh, but they're > going to have it RSN! Yay!!!!!! Uh, yeah. Then enable it? The first time you run KDE, it asks about the capabilities of your box, so that slow boxes don't get too much eye candy. However, if you don't run KDE, but just the separate tools, you never get that wizard and are stuck with the defaults until you change them. I've had Konqueror *with* anti aliasing for I think at least two years now. Run kcontrol and from there enable font anti aliasing. If that doesn't work, your Xft/fontconfig is broken. > and although this isn't very hateful, Safari gives you extra information > in it like whether a link is to a new window or in the same window. So does Konqueror. > I'm all about waiting for my computer You should really try MS Windows then! I hear it's a GREAT way to make your new hardware feel like a good old Pentium-II. > important or something), fine, but they're not, they're just there for > fun or whatever. "Wow, it's bright and colorful; I didn't know linux could > do that!" I kind of like the eyecandy. But feel free to configure your own colours in the already mentioned kcontrol. Icon sets, even very boring ones, are available on http://kde-look.org/. By the way, there is MUCH more to hate about Opera than just the interface. But I'll leave that for you to find out yourself.
